Is this CPU good enough?

I am going to be doing a good amount a PC gaming and I was wondering if the AMD FX-4350 4.2GHz Quad-Core Processor would be enough.

Depends on your gpu. I wouldn't go more than a gtx 950 or 270x. An fx 6300 would be more better if you're budget allow.

I would not use that as a gaming processer, at least get a fx 6300 and the best option for amd is the 8350, the fx 4350 is a good little chip just not for gaming

Yes for a mid-low range pc. The alternative is a lowish end Intel i3 for slightly more $$:

People here will probably be a little biased to Intel or AMD, depending on which they have installed 😛 I would check out the reviews for the i3 and FX4350 to see which you think is better

You should think about upgrade to intel i5 system.

A 970 will even be bottlenecked by a FX6300. Either go 8350 if you want to stick to AMD or switch over to Intel and get an i5, which will run any GPU without worrying about any bottleneck.

Any FX-series processor is a bad bet for gaming, per-thread performance is king when it comes to games. To get full performance out of a 970 you really need a quad-core i5 processor (the cheapest 4-series model would be sufficient).

A i5 4460 with a h81 combo is definitely better than a 8350/8320 with a 970 motherboard IF you're just gaming

For price FX 8300 is best but if you want some really good CPU go for i5 4460.

Getting an intel i5 would be a better choice like the 4460 or even 4430 like mine is perfectly fine plus its not nearly as old as the the FX line and it will run cooler.
