Hi,

Just about to embark on my first ever build and picked up some parts to just do some light 1080p gaming and just want to know if they are up to the job

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600
MOBO: Asus TUF B450-plus Gaming
GPU: Sapphire Pulse RX580 8GB
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX ddr4 32gb 2400mhz (2x16gb)
Storage: Kingston A400 240gb (boot & programs) & Crucial MX500 500gb (games etc)
PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 550 G3, 80 Plus Gold 550W
Case: Corsair 100R windowed
OS: WIN10

I know 32gb of memory may be overkill but I got it for a good price.

So my question is, do you think this should play most games at 1080p on highest settings?

Is there anything you would change/add?

Thanks in advance

Solution

Think this is higher than norm, but W3 was a 13fps/15% gain with higher speed ram.

And another, not a big but still more:

Looks like it has the highest impact on 1080p with high framerates, 1440p not so much. So, depends on what resolution/refresh you want to support.

As memory speed has a big impact on ryzen's performance, you will see quite a solid fps up (especially for 1080p gaming) So the small upgrade in the memory speed will make a big impact on your gaming experience.

It’s funny you should say that because I actually decided to go with the 3000mhz instead of the 2400mhz. What I did find though is that I had to manually overclock these in the bios as they were defaulting as 2133mhz. Is this normal?

For ryzen often this can be normal, so don't stress. Also, sorry about the misunderstanding in my first post, I misread your post and thought you had lower frequency ram then did. Sorry about that.
