You can relax the curve some if you wish. It's not uncommon for a gpu to hit @80°C when pushed hard under max settings. The eco mode on my gtx970 doesn't even turn on the gpu fans until @65°C, which is pretty common to all gpus using that.
Most gamers will upgrade their card in @3yrs or so, and mostly that's only to move up in ability as games get more intense, not because their card is dead or dying, so unless you are running that card at those speeds, all the time, every day, I'd not be worried about expected lifetime. If anything, it'd be the fans that die, and those are easily replaced as your temps are far below what the card can generally handle.
