Is this motherboard compatible with ECC ram?

My friend is giving me his ECC ram but I was planning on buying this motherboard: MSI B250M PRO-VDH LGA 1151 mATX.

Would this motherboard work with ECC ram? I'm aware I can't use the "ECC features", but would it still work as regular ram in this motherboard at least?

If you have them you can try, but I wouldn't use any ECC for a non-ECC mobo, have seen people claiming they have tryed and that they work and dont work.

When you try and use ECC with a non-ECC mobo there is always a HIGH risk it will not work.

Supported ECC modules operate in non-ECC mode.
