Question Is this only the bios ? GTX 550 ti

hello i have this old GPU i got from my cousin and he said that it has a problem like very laggy ingame
i plugged it in into my pc. Then open up gpuZ this is what the app says (fake gtx 550ti) this is the GPU photo GTX 550 ti
and this is the gpu-z screen shot GPUZ SCREENSHOT the chip when i search it up it said GTX 550ti chip imgae
is this bios only ?
 
Quite common, someone took a lesser GPU and put a BIOS on it that reports it is as a higher end card. GPU-Z checks the stats of the card against the real values it should be, labels it fake when they don't match. These often come with a special driver disk that spoofs the system into running, somewhat.

GF116-400 = GTX 550Ti
GF108 = GT 530, GT 420, 430, 440. Cheaper cards.

It is laggy, because it is actually a much slower card, and the driver is probably trying to make it do things it shouldn't.

If you want to use the card, take the heatsink off, find out what GPU it really is and then flash a compatible BIOS to it. It will then report correctly and work with standard drivers.

If the price is too good to be true, it is.
