Defining "right" may be a bit subjective but I will take the path that you want as high a level of performance as possible: e.g., maximum fps. Or perhaps overclocking.
There are always trade-offs. You might be able to overclock but then there may be power and heating problems.
Are the games "playing" okay?
Compare your hardware and configuration to the hardware and configuration recommended by the game's manufacturers.
Generally there are three categories: minimum, recommended, and best.
You do not want minimum. Recommended for sure and best if at all possible and affordable.
If you can reconfigure fps upwards no harm is giving that a try. Change only one thing at a time and keep notes.
Just always be ready to roll back...
