[SOLVED] Is this Processor Compatible With my Board?

Hi there! I currently have an i5-4460 fitted into a Gigabyte GA-B85M-D3V. Correct me if I'm wrong but this CPU (i5-4460) will bottleneck a GTX 1070?

Anyways, if so, I'm looking for the next, but *cheapest* CPU which will be compatible with my board with no bottleneck to the 1070. I was thinking the i7-4790. Not sure if it's compatible with my board. I can't find any info on this. Any info would be great

Your i5 will Bottleneck.... But I would still run it without changing cpu. Bottleneck is not the end of the world. You always have one running faster than the other. As long as they are in range of each other's performance, it's okay.

Ok! Do you know if this i7 is the next best thing after my i5 in terms of price and compatibility? If you can pls post an info link because I can't find anything

Yes bios update is recommended. As mentioned.

As for performance view, just search on YouTube your i5+gtx1070 game test and then i7+gtx1070 game test
Or benchmark test. Then see how they differ
