Question Is this PSU compatible with RX580 ?

The RX580 card that I am looking at has a 8+6 power connectors. my PSU( EVGA 500 GD ) has a single PCIE cable with two 8(6+2) plugs....

Is the card compatible with this PSU ?

Can you specifically state which RX580 you're looking at? The factory overclocked RX580's like the one from Powercolor would need more power to drive the overclock. If it's base clock(meaning no overclocks) then you should be fine with the unit linked above.

Hang on, how old is the PSU and what did it drive prior to today(discrete GPU wise)?

It's fine. 500 GD can't be older than about 4 years.

Its a brand new sealed PSU that I ordered on June 10, 2022.

The GPU I am looking at is the Sapphire NITRO+ RX 580 8G GDDR5 (299-1E366-001SA).

So, just to confirm, the PSU only comes with """1""" PCIE cable which has 2 6+2 pin plugs...I should populate all the connectors on the card so I should connect a 6+2 and a 6 pin plug ?
