Is this router any good?

Ok, so this is the router I got from my ISP and I wanted to know if it does a good job/if the maximum download/upload speed rates are up to pair (cause I certainly do not get the entire internet speed I pay for, but's that's a commom problem). It's the THOMSON TG787.

Any help would be much appreciated, since google didn't provide any good information..... or at least that I could understand.

Looks like you have DSL service. From my experience Thomson modems are pretty solid. More than likely your distance from your ISP's central office is the reason you aren't getting the bandwidth you are paying for. A lot of the big players in DSL will sell you plan for a certain amount of bandwidth knowing you can't get it. However if you wanted to be sure you could either ask your ISP for a different modem or you can buy one that will work with your internet provider.

I think I'd already concluded it was the distance (2Km) that didn't allow me the full speed I paid for. Getting my own fiber is also quite expensive, so I'm not even considering that. All I can do is wait for it to expand a bit more (YAY to living in a village), maybe I'll luck out within the next 5-10 years :/.

Anyways, thanks a lot for your time :).
