Put it this way, with Windows on your old HDD, your PC will boot into Windows and that will take a few minutes to get everything loaded in to where you can actually use it. With an SSD you are completely loaded into Windows from your PC being off in about 15-20 seconds. So yes, it will be MUCH faster.

As said above, 128GB anymore fills up fast, but the 128GB SSDs are also much slower at write speed than a 512GB. So when they say up to 560/520 speed, they aren't referring to the 128GB size.
That said, the read/write speed of a WD Blue 1TB HDD is only about 130. Your reboot speed should be roughly 4 times faster than with the WD Blue, but write speed only just a bit over 2.5 times faster.
It's still easily one of the best bang for buck performance investments for OS and programs whether you go 128GB or 512GB, but SSDs do not always speed up texture streaming in games. More often they don't.
All you can count on for gaming is they will load levels faster, but that in itself can be a big deal, especially in competitive mp matches where it's a disadvantage to enter a map behind most other players.
Way faster but you have to save and install pretty much everything but the OS to the HDD. We have a 128 in our websurfing/ms office/itunes machine and it’s good to go but not much room to spare. Go 250gb if you can find the budget.
