Hello!

I’ve set my eyes on this monitor:
Asus TUF Gaming VG259Q, (Flat Screen; LED IPS, 24.5” 1920x1080, Aspect 16:9, Full HD, 1ms, 144Hz, Contrast static 1000:1, G-Sync, AdaptiveSync NVIDIA, FreeSync AMD, 400cd/m2, HDMI v1.4 x2, DisplayPort v1.2 x1, 40W)

Mention:
I don’t want a 27” monitor, or a curved screen monitor.
I want to use it for music production, light gaming and general usage.

The above monitor was the best I was able to find.

Does anyone know of a better monitor at this size, and with flat panel?

Yes it's a good screen, a bit overkill but your money to spend on it (depending on what "light gaming" is exactly).

If the main usage is music production I would get a larger screen with a higher resolution to be able to fit more on the screen. 1ms and 144hz is not really needed for casual gamers nor for general use, the money can be put towards a higher res screen, and for productivity a larger high res screen is best unless you don't have the space for a 27" for some reason. I would take away the fast IPS screen and high refresh rate and put it towards a higher resolution 27" screen.

Yes, you’re right. So I’ve changed my mind and went in a totally different direction.
The monitor that I want to buy now is this one:

Dell 24 Ultra HD 4K Monitor - P2415Q (23.8”, 16:9, 3840x2160 @60Hz, 10-bit panel, 185.12 PPI, 8ms response time, 300cd/m2, colours support: 1.07 billion)

So that is a good screen, however on a 24" screen 4k will make for some very small icons and text, I would go with a 27" 1440 or 4k screen vs a 24" one. I have a 27" 4k Dell monitor, it looks great, but without increasing scaling even at 27" the icon/text is very small. If you really want to stick with a 24" screen get a 1440 one vs a 4k one.

This may be OK for you https://www.dell.com/en-us/work/shop/dell-ultrasharp-27-monitor-u2719d/apd/210-arcv?gacd=9646510-1025-5761040-266794296-0&dgc=st&ds_rl=1282786&gclid=CjwKCAjwh7H7BRBBEiwAPXjadg1Hrd5-X6Xe1NsgoUfrBkDPW6-LjJDgpHm2F--BTpL4EvsgHVjpGBoCBsAQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

24" one at 1440p https://www.dell.com/en-us/work/shop/dell-24-monitor-p2421d/apd/210-aull/monitors-monitor-accessories

I agree.
I’ll probably use it at 2560x1440 @60Hz resolution, or at 4K resolution, using Windows scaling.
I really like the look of this monitor.
27” monitors are too big for my desk.
