Hi,
I have had a corsair carbide 300r build for nearly a year now and I was wondering about noise. Before I went and bought any case fans I wanted to know exactly where the noise was coming from in my pc, whether it be the stock cpu cooler I have in there or the stock case fans that came with the 300r. I know you can just take the fans out on by one but I was wondering if there was an easier way to find out which sound was the loudest.

Solution
Are you just using the stock case fans?
As someone who owns a 300r I can say the 140mm and 120mm fans included are very quiet, and should not be what you are hearing.
This leaves the power supply (generally quiet, model?), processor heatsink (again, model of processor so I know the stock cooler?) and the graphics card (one last time, model?).
Given that, the stock cpu cooler is the most likely source of the noise.

Ok thanks

So if I got another 140 mm front I take and another 120 mm for the back I would have 280mm coming in and 260 going it counting the stock fans. Will having the airflow have slightly positive pressure increase dust build up and or heat inside the case?

Ok thanks for clearing that up

Do you think it would be beneficial to add two new case fans?

How do the Corsair quiet series fans compare to just the regular Corsair Air series that have led lights. Also, if I go for the quiet series that costs more, should I get Noctua case fans because they are around the same price as the Corsair Quiet Edition and may perform better?

In reality the "quiet" fans are barely any better. They move slightly more air (slightly) and are 1dBA quieter, thats nothing.

If you have the budget for them, the Noctua fans should run cooler and quieter.

What extra case fans do you have?

I've heard of some people having difficulty with the corsair quiet edition AF's screw mountings, do you know about this?
