Question Issue with accessing external hard drive

I've got an issue with an external hard drive where the drive seems not to work. After a bit of Googling and Faffing about, I found about the Disk Manager, when looking at the Disk Manager screen the device is listed as uninitialized, so I tried to initialize the disk and I got a cyclic redundancy error when I tried to initialize. If it helps the events in the properties it says that it was not migrated due to a partial or ambiguous match. JIC here's a screenshot of the disk management window.

Can be the disk is defective or something else. Please provide S.M.A.R.T data for the disk (can use a tool like CrystalDiskInfo to extract that info).

With almost 1500 pending sector count I'd say you hard drive are most likely bricked (a re-format may get it up and running with a new partition table, but that disk cannot be trusted for file storage )

2. is 192 on the pending sectors actually almost 1500 pending sector accounts?

If windows permits it, I assume you can just initialize and reformat (probably loose any data previous stored on it)

Yes, but it's not a requirement as long as I can fix the storage to use for now till I can afford a new one.
