[SOLVED] Issue with graphics card shutting down while in use

Apologies if this has already been answered but couldn’t find anything like it.
I’m having an issue where my new Vega 57 graphics card will cut out while in the middle of running. I.E: I will be typing away at a word document and the screen will just suddenly go black.

The issue occurs irrelevant of the workload on the Graphics card and I do not believe is the result of overheating. I have checked the settings for both the main PC and the Card itself. An interesting note is that audio will continue to play after the video cuts out hence why I believe it’s the graphics card.

Furthermore the cards fans will spin up as soon as it cuts out and for this particular card (MSI airbreather) it has lights along the 16pin connector which flicker depending on power draw, when the card cuts out these lights turn off completely.

Any ideas for what could be causing this or is this just a card defect?

From the description I would have said power issues but I can't be sure without being there and checking myself. You can do the following:

• Reseat your GPU
• Make sure the power cables are properly and firmly attached to the GPU
• Try using DDU to remove and reinstall your drivers using this guide: How To - How to perform a CLEAN install of your video card drivers. | Tom's Hardware Forum
• Install the latest BIOS,chipset drivers, windows updates.
• Use the GPU in another system to see if the problem exists there as well.
