How to fix my issues,I am on my last step on installing the catalina patcher but it comes with and error that says "macos cant be installed to your mac" and mentions running a diagnostic

I actually just did this to my October 2011 MBP. I ended up restoring back to my previous OS.

I had that happen to me. It was because I needed a firmware upgrade. Once I did that, the Catalina went right in.

But the software informed me that I needed the firmware update during installation. Did you get this message?
