Issues with building my first PC

I bought the parts to a new gaming computer a couple weeks ago and couldn't seem to get it to boot up.
MB - MSI 970A-G43 plus
VGA - MSI GTX 1060 Armor 3G OCV1
PSU - EVGA 100-W1-0500-KR
CPU - AMD 8-Core FX-8350 4.0G 8M
MEM - 8G HyperX HX318C10F/8
HD - 1T WD WD10EZEX

I'm pretty sure everything is correct, it just won't get any power. I tried the paperclip trick with the power supply and it booted right up. Any ideas? Thanks

Wrong/bad connection to start button or button itself ?

If so, how would I go about testing this? Thanks!

Find the two pins on MB where start button connects to and short it with a screwdriver for a second.
