So recently I’ve had a friend assemble a computer for me and stuff and I’ve been running into minor sound issues as well as my usb connections dropping out during Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. And I wouldn’t mind blessing someone’s cashapp that takes their time to assist a brother. You help me and I help you.
So, I noticed this issue with sound playing through my old headset. The old headset being a Corsair Virtuoso RGB, and I had used it on my old PC with absolutely no issues for a year. Then I had sold the old PC. (Ryzen 7 5800x / RTX 3080)
So fast forward, and now I had a pal of mine assemble my new computer from the parts I had gathered.
My new PC build (PC Part Picker)
So, with it all assembled and finished I started using it and I noticed that my sound had this weird warping effect from time to time, and it will happen at random but mostly when watching videos or playing games. The audio will crackle and get all distorted and whatnot, which was a problem I didn’t have with the old computer. There is also reduced range on the headset like I cannot get far with it at all before it gets all distorted. (once again, on my old PC, I can literally leave the room with the headset on my head and the sound will be crystal clear, even in the kitchen) Alright, let’s try it wired and see where we’re at. Sound will be clear with no weird modulation, distorted like issues as before wirelessly, but after a while the sound will go away entirely and I’ll have to reconnect the USB cable in and out of the USB port in order for it to reset. And I’d have to do this over and over wired so eventually I caved in and bought a new headset. The Steelseries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless, and I thought this would resolve my issue but no, wirelessly I still have the same modulation and crackle and pop at range and sometimes even entire cut outs while being basically right next to my computer.
Issues while playing MW2 (basically the only game I play as of now) I know, I know. Anyways, I will shine light on additional weird things that happen.
At the beginning of a match I’ll lose control of my USB connected peripherals. And reconnecting the usb will do nothing it will have power but nothing will register at all. All the RGB will remain though but it will be frozen. (Strimer Cable RGB, MB RGB, etc) The only thing I can do here is hard restart my PC via power button on the case.
Sometimes while in a match in MW2, pressing the windows key will crash every application on the computer. Even discord, etc.
Other than the sound issues and the weird usb thing going on and the windows key crashing EVERYTHING (this is very rare btw but it has happened 3 or 4 times) everything seems to be running optimally. I’m getting all my frames that I’m expecting, and temps are reading low in various monitoring software. I’ve already updated the BIOS and done a fresh windows install but perhaps I’m missing something here?
Various photos of the computer.
