Issues with HDMI displaying on a new ASUS monitor

My ASUS VE228H monitor arrived today and to test it out, I hooked up my laptop to it via VGA. This worked perfectly. Next I tried to connect my PS3 to the monitor to watch a movie. This however posed an issue. The monitor continued to tell me that the HDMI port was receiving no signal.

After that issue I checked to see if the PS3 had died but that worked as it normally did on my TV (connected through HDMI).

So I've determined that my PS3 is not the issue. I'm thinking that the issue resides in the port on the monitor itself?

Also, I've tried the troubleshooting on ASUS's website and got no where.

I would connect it to a computer using a HDMI cable to determine if the HDMI port on the monitor is faulty.
