Issues with Sapphire R9 295x2 8gig video card

Hi,

I purchased this sweet looking card about 4 months ago and enjoyed it for 3 months then it began to flicker and distort my screen and began to flicker on and off then began to flicker so often I couldn't stand it any longer.

I contacted Sapphire and they appear to be a leason to the manufacturer that actually performs the RMA repair/exchanges. Their responses so far have been quick. After 2 days of emails I was issued an RMA and I shipped the card off to althonmicro.

I received the card in about 2 weeks. I immediately installed and the screen was back to normal. 3 days passed and then boom, the issues began again. I took out the card and put my spare R9 290x card in (luckily I had one of these) until I get word from Sapphire (althonmicro) that I have approval to RMA again.

Although its been irritating to have this issue with such a beast of a card, the support has been very good. Having my spare card has made it bearable to deal with tbh.

I will update as I get replies and keep everyone interested posted.

My other reason for posting this is my curiosity of anyone else experiencing failures on these cards? (sapphire or any other brand for that matter)

Thanks!

I just submitted my 295x2 to Sapphire in Walnut, CA. I heard some horror stories about their work, so I am seriously concerned. I am just ticked off that the card is not even one year old and has failed. You'd think that a card of that expense would have a higher quality. My 5970 was also crossfire but never had those issues. They were in contact with me until I sent in the card, and I have no heard anything from them since.

Good luck with it buddy. I sold mine as soon as I got it back and I lost my butt on that card. I've been a long time supporter of AMD products but from now on my personal high end rig will be Intel/Nvidia and any base systems in my house might or might not be AMD, depending on cost/performance ratio.

I'm using my old 6950s in xfire until Pascal arrives.

Got the card back from those guys, took them nearly 3 weeks, it appears to be a refurbished one, and the radiator is identical to the one I sent in. They claim it is a card Sapphire sent them, but it looks identical to the one I sent it, just with new serial number stickers on it. I have the extended Newegg warranty for 3 years, which means unless my home floods, the card is guaranteed to work until 2020. (ok you guys can stop laughing)

Glad you got it back. Three weeks is unacceptable as 2 weeks in pretty much an industry standard. Hopefully that card will last you for a while. I'm totally done with Sapphire and Im currently shopping for a new card as we speak. The new Pascal based Titan X sounds pretty sexy right now.
