Ever since I got this card, it's worked fine except at random times, it would lose its hdmi signal for a few hours/day then randomly start working. So today I tried to fix it by doing a clean install of it, deleting all of its drivers and such. Now, I just realized AMD doesn't have drivers for this anymore apparently?

I went to the drivers page, tried to the drivers but it only lets me install AMD Catalyst Manager, so it basically reinstalls itself (WTF?). I then try to download the autodetect utility but it tells me "We were unable to find a driver for your system, your operation system may not be supported." I'm running Win. 7 64 bit.

I've been stuck on this for 4 hours now, I am about ready to kick this crap card to the curb and buy a cheap one, expensive ones have never worked right for me.

Solution
well I guess take the card to someone who can install it to see if it does the same ?? or borrow a card to see if it properly installs on your s ?

we covered about all we can I would think - sounds like bad hardware in some way ???

I got to go for a wile i'll check back latter

Installed from your link, now what? Not much seemed to happen.

Edit: Says everything is up to date and only gives me the option to install Catalyst Install Manager at the end of the setup, still nothing.

go to your device manager - display adaptor dub. click - it should now show your card - left click -property's - driver tab

that should show something like driver provider - amd inc. - driver date - 11/20/14 driver verison - 14.501.1003.0 signed by Microsoft

or left click on the desk top choose catalyst control center - then info- and all the driver info is listed there

if no driver is installed the first device manager thing will say Microsoft standard vga driver witch is the built in to windows default driver to get any card to display to get things up and going

one more place to look is - computer - program files - AMD - cim- reports xml.

that should show what been installed and if it was installed correctly [not the same computer I was on a minute ago this is a 14.12 driver ]

AMD Display Driver

I don't have any files there, but I did get this after downloading what you suggested http://i.imgur.com/dE0QTkz.png

I got does your board got onboard/chip graphics ??

video controller - vga compatible ?? I use windows 7 and never got that in device manager [http://i.imgur.com/UOjOfsU.png ].. if the vid card was recognized it should say ''standard vga graphics adaptor'' [with out amd driver installed]

only thing I can think of is your motherboards bios is set for the on board/chip graphics and needs to be changed to pci-e graphics for card use ?? [should be all stated in your boards manual ] like my bios its listed as '' Primary Graphics Adapter Select a primary VGA.'' then you choose wat to use like - pcie- onboard - what ever your bios shows ??-- and for the card of Corse you choose what ever enables the slot and disables the onboard

Oops, didn't mean to mark as solution, no idea how to revert.

Anyhow, I have no idea on how to delete all the drivers, I've tried before with some utilities but it doesnt seem to work.

I went through my entire bios, not a single thing about GPU/graphics cards, etc.

well looks like something that's not the card is being detected I am now on a 7850 with out drivers and its running fine and shows up in device manager as ''''standard vga graphics adaptor''

not that like yours shows ?? that seems like it detecting a onboard device ?

''Oops, didn't mean to mark as solution, no idea how to revert.'' I mite can if I don't get barked at by a mod .... there a balloon thing that says unselect current solution '' I will unselect it for you ..

what motherboard do you have and all ??

P8z77--v le plus

I down loaded your manual from asus and its in there -- page 3-21

http://192.168.1.1:8181/http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1155/P8Z77-V_LE_PLUS/E8001_P8Z77-V_LE_PLUS.pdf

it shows default as ''auto'' but also gives 4 choices form auto -igpu- pci-e - pci. now set it to pci-e and shut down hook your monitor to the card [not the motherboard] and re boot on the card [ wile your shot down and powered off may as well pull your card out and re seat it back in to the slot to insure it got good contact .. and re check all the power leads from the psu to the card as well to insure there properly plugged in ]

as a long shot as well you see theres a bios update if yours is not at least this bios or newer ?? [ read #1]

Version 0905

Description
P8Z77-V LE PLUS BIOS 0905
1. Enhance compatibility with some PCIE device.
2.Revise help string in BIOS.
3.Support new CPUs. Please refer to our website at: http://support.asus.com/cpusupport/cpusupport.aspx?SLanguage=en-us

in the end it may come down to a bad card unless you can test it in another computer to insure its fully working and not bad??

Thanks, I actually just tried this and there is no display through my hdmi and dvi when I plug it into my graphics card

'' through my hdmi when I plug it into my graphics card '' I see a lot of issues with that hdmi to the card - I bet its whats got you hung up

I went through 3 new hdmi cables and did not work and then I got a dvi [card] to hdmi [monitor] and everything works 100% with it

thers a lot of bad luck for some reason with a hdmi plugged in to the card - and it may need full driver support to use - and the thing is you cant get the driver in to use it ??

is there anyway to use the dvi port on the card to see if things will get going ??

Tried dvi to dvi, nothing.

I don't know man - its hard to guess at this with out being there for a hands on to see if something aint being missed in communications -

all I can think is that it changed back to auto caus it did not detect the card and switch the setting to something ready to use and is detected ??

to me when I set something in the bios I expect it to stay that way not be overridden and changed as it wants ..

all I can say is try another card in your computer and see if it works or your card in another computer to se how it work out ??

My hunch is that for whatever reason, my 7950 has a defective hdmi port. I may try to get another G Card and see what happens. Thanks again for all your help.
