Do any of the programs you use take advantage of Hyper Threading (HT)? If not, then there is really no reason to get a Core i7 CPU. Games don't use HT and in past benchmarks HT can cause a 1% - 2% decrease in gaming performance. Not much, but it is a decrease.

Ivy Bridge uses a little less power than Sandy Bridge and in generally is slightly more power; about 3% or 4% on average. However, it does run slightly hotter which may affect overclocking potential.

The price of a Core i7-3770k is only 6% ($350 vs $330) more than the Core i7-2700k. That's not bad. You can say $10 will give you 3% - 4% more CPU power and the other $10 will get you the faster Intel HD 4000 integrated graphic core. The HD 4000 is definitely more powerful than the...

JUST ORDERED and Have printed and email confirmation of my purchase INTEL i5 3570k on newegg.com at 12:18am April 29,

After i ordered i went back on newegg, tiger, amazon and looked for 20 mins couldn't find it?

I paid 250........ I thought it was gonna be 220???

I only see like 4 or 5 of these i5 3570k on ebay and the cheapest is 280????

Just wondering if anyone else is having trouble finding this chip???

Did i get lucky?

Word around the campfire is that these i5 3570k's were gonna sell out fast......Just glad i got one !!!!

For some reason these CPUs cant be found by search on these sites. But there are link to the product pages posted on many forums. That is probably why theyre not sold out yet. And yes, the prices were high then previously predicted.
