Question JHDD1 connector is marked with an "x", why?

Hi, I have bought this Lenovo Legion 15imh6 laptop a couple of years ago as brand new.

Now I am trying to upgrade storage by adding a SSD to it. The manual says it has space for a 2.5"HDD/SSD or a M2 SSD.

I tried connecting a 2.5" SSD but it doesnt get recognized by the laptop and I noticed the connector is marked with an "x" as in these images: Images.

Is there a reason for this? Im not sure how/why this happened

It may be that that port is disabled for that model laptop and the "x" is there to inform any service personnel of that fact.

Yeah, figured, i saw people uprading the same model though, but refund the ssd and get the m2 it is...
