So why is it alright to have a patent on how a tablet looks but you can have two identical laptops, or two cars that look the same, or even two appliances that look the same. And how come iOS doesn't ask me what browser I want to use?Or any mac product for that matter?

[citation][nom]halcyon[/nom]I don't know. I think Apple should just ignore this. Let them ban Apple products in the UK, probably won't make too much difference in Apple's bottom line. If the customers in the UK do seem to mind perhaps the judge can revisit their decision?[/citation]
It's like saying Samsung should ignore order to play more than 1 billion in damages in the US.

[citation][nom]halcyon[/nom]Yeah, you're prolly right. It just rubs me wrong I guess. ...like Great Britain still thinks its the center of the universe. What are they going to do if Apple ignores them?[/citation]
They can present charges against Apple in the EU.

No, not really. There's not $1 Billion at stake in the UK situation so its not really the same (at least not to me). Its just some text on their website that no one really cares too much about. Not that the UK is a little 3rd world country but its not the size of the US either. So again, if Apple ignores this and were to be banned from selling in the UK they'd lose that business. I'm sure that would be devastating to their bottom line (sarcasm) but more significantly it would lead to A LOT of unhappy Britains...and create a black/grey-market. I wonder if Apple would mind. ...then again, Samsung would likely get more business so it would be better for them and other Android OEMs.

If someone doesn't follow a court order don't they usually go to jail or are fined? so put the CEO in jail and fine him a few billion. That will get you results.

Its a UK court and an American company. ...don't think they can do too much. Impose a fine. Ban them from doing business (and piss off most of their citizens).
