So i'm looking into upgrading my GPU from my current 2080 Super to a 4070
Due to my current card seems to be slowly dying one of the display ports have died and rarely my screen like flickers only on a small amount of the monitor and it runs hot 85C+ in any game that demands something of the GPU such as (phasmo, Helldivers 2, Enshrouded etc). Anyway
I'm looking at getting a 4070 with a 8pin pcie connenctor and here's where my question comes in So my PSU is a Corsair RM750X from 2018 and i have looked through the different cables and all my pcie cables all have pigtails? i think it's called like there's 8pin connector and then there's another 8 pin connector a bit further down. Can i use that cable to power a 4070 and leave the other part of the wire to hang freely? Or could / would that cause issues or is that completly normal and fine to do? cuz i don't wanna buy a new GPU just to fry it lol
Hope my question makes sense! not the sharpest when it comes to Computer hardware
Have a wonderful day <3
