I have been watching the forum and decided to pull the trigger on a new computer.

Parts I have:
Corsair 750Watt P/S
Antec Sonata 2 (Would like to reuse)

Parts I'm Buying tomorrow:
C2Q9550
http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/PID-MX21274(ME).aspx

GB GA-EP45-UD3P
http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/PID-MX22832(ME).aspx

Sapphire Radeon HD 4870 1GB
http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/PID-MX22549(ME).aspx

Thermalright Ultra 120
http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/PID-MX17339(ME).aspx

Arctic Silver 5
http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/PID-MX1577(ME).aspx

Schythe Slip Stream
http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/PID-MX19092(ME).aspx

Then don't have any of the Mushkin HP2-6400 High Performance in stock, so is it worth it go with the Mushkin Enhanced DDR2 (http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/PID-MX17274(ME).aspx) or should I go with the Patriot Extreme Performance Viper Series (http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/PID-MX21405(ME).aspx)

So ya, basically which RAM should I go with and will all this fit into a Sonata 2 case or should I go with the Antec 902?

And that Slip Stream fan I'm not too sure about, planning on overclocking the system and I've never put on an aftermarket cooler so hopefully thats the one I need. Thanks for any ideas you guys give me, couldn't have gotten back into the build process with such confidence if I didn't have forums like these to figure it all out :)

I am not convinced at all that the 750TX and the Thermalright Extreme fit in the Sonata. They might, but I doubt it. Try to figure it out before you buy, OK?

I'd prefer MX-2 paste to AS5 because it doesn't conduct electricity.

That Viper RAM claims 4-4-4-12, but it's at 2.1V. That's cheating IMO, shame on their marketers. Still, pretty good stuff.

That Scythe fan should do. At 110 cfm it will cool very well but it will be too noisy. It's adjustable. You'll probably end up using it a lower rpm and it will be quiet enough.

Also look at the SFF21F ($20, 1600 rpm, 63.7 cfm, 28 dB). That's the one used by most reviewers when they try the Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme, and it's one of the reasons why that cooler does so well in reviews.

K, I'm going to go with the SFF21F fan, and most likely upgrade to an Antec 900 or 902 as well. I'll look around and see if I can finx the MX-2 paste but neither of the big local guys have it. Thanks for the help :)
