What IS ras? Why do I use it? How do I remove problems from it, if I don't know what it is OR what it does? I encountered a thousand problems, problem after problem. My work-coleges think that I should do something else, like draw icons or something, but I want to prove them wrong.

Any suggestions?

RAS is Remote Access Service.
Using RAS you can login from home to your office network. It is used for
remotely logging in to a network.

You can find more information on RAS at
http://www.microsoft.com/vpn
