Hi all!

I am looking for people who are pretty savvy when it comes to components in a PC. Im guessing I came to the right place? Haha! I have always been a console gamer, and this will be my first PC purchase. Had one before but when I was little, one of those old ass computers back when dial up was still a thing...

Basically, I have started up a Youtube channel and will be gaming: with the odd challenges and things, and I want to know if these specs will suit all of my gaming and editing videos needs...

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

get a higher quality power supply

that motherboard does not support that cpu unless it has a skylake cpu in it first, and bios is updated, so go with any b250m motherboard.

go with 2400mhz ram since your cpu supports it and it costs no more

all of those accessories and little optional things add up, and cable management kit? wtf is that... guarantee you it's unnecessary. you can have super clean cable management with what you get in the case's box.

the warranty stuff confuses me, how much was that? most parts have their own warranty without buying an extended one

Thanks for the reply! I wouldn't say I am at the top of my budget, have room for improvement. & the aesthetics is pretty important to the build. Would like a nice setup, so will be buying them eventually, may aswell get them now. But what would you recommend to upgrade those to?

Thanks for the reply!

I cant see a b250 motherboard as an option on the site I am on.. is there anything else? The warranty is standard, free. I didn't upgrade it any. & the cable management things are just to bunch the wires together, 3 of them only costs a 5er, so that's not a problem.

all of those flashy lights aren't going to improve your gaming/streaming. you need to center your build around prioritizing the CPU/GPU to your overall budget. You can still have a nice looking setup without spending tons of money on that aspect. not to mention, you can always add those little touches one by one later. you are always going to crave more performance, and when you are gaming, the look of your build starts to fade out.

I say to satisfy your need for looks, pick the case you want, and hold off on all the little led strips and such. get a solid base going

I have upgraded the CPU to a Corsair 650 CS Series, Gold, is this a better CPU

Well I seem very limited with my options. There is no option for a 2400 MHz RAM, also no b250m motherboard which was stated by another user....

Some of the components that stand out to me on this list:

2GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 1050
These are good little cards for the price. You can get some high frame rates on them but nothing too serious. For a bit of extra power, GTX1050ti.

1st Hard Disk - 500GB Samsung 850 EVO 2.5" SSD
A good choice in SSD drive. If you want to save yourself some money, go for 250GB - It's enough for Windows, software, and a good few games.

CORSAIR 350W VS SERIES
350W is low and is not of great quality. There are experts on here that can help you with choosing a correct PSU if you need help.

In addition I would say you should rethink some of the peripherals/accessories that you have chosen and worry about those later. The main thing is your PC, get it all thought out now so you don't have to think about upgrading in the near future because you chose some wrong part(s) at the time. :)

Okay so ive upgraded the CPU to a 650 CS Series Gold, upgraded the Graphics card to 4GB Nvidia Geforce GTX1050 TI

Also taken away the Razer Peripherals. Anything else you would recommend?

Not really, those are the main things that stood out to me, probably don't need a sound card.

A 650W is a better choice. Just be sure to get a good quality one.
This list can help you with that: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html

Also don't get caught up with the looks of your build at the moment, focus on the priorities. A nice looking case is where to start, which you have done.

You need nothing close to 650 watts 550 will run a GTX 1080.
The 1050ti is still entry level card a GTX 1060 is the least I would get for 1080p gaming.
For the SSD 250 GB will not hold a lot depending on the games a lot of the AAA games are in the 70gb area.

I5 7600K with a Z board and a GTX 1060 card the 6GB version has the best performance.
You can add LED's anytime get the performance first.

Valuable points, but as he also has a HDD I'm thinking he is not that likely to require all his games to be on the SSD.

Unfortunately, I do not have the patience or time to build it myself. I know it would be pretty straightforward and cheaper doing it myself, following youtube videos for everything. But I don't want to risk it. Paying more is the only other option.
But 1200 is my budget.

add to this...

Went to start a whole new build from scratch, and a lot of these parts are not listed on PC Specialist?

with your budget it's unacceptable to get anything below an i5-7500+gtx 1060 6gb in my opinion. I wish I had that budget when I did mine. I stayed under $850 and even got GTA 5. you should still be able to get 75% of the non-necessities you want, you are taking a small hit in optional parts, in return for a good gain in performance.

PC part picker will require me to build it myself, which I don't want. So I need to use sites like PC Specialist (which is obviously limited for choice...seems abit overkill having a 6GB garphics card as im not going to be using massive games, mainly indie games or whatnot, like mini golf blah blah. Will be using my console for the bigger games still... The main part of me getting a PC is for editing videos, tbh. My laptop (MacBook pro) would you believe is very slow for that sort of thing (shock horror)

Obviously I am struggling a lot with the specs I need. If anybody has time, can you build on PC Specialist, then send their work on here. As it has obviously not got some of the hardware that some of you are listing. Its easy to copy and paste to a forum as after saving the quote, you have the option to post to a forum. That is how I did it. I have found PC Specialist to be the cheapest after looking on soooooo many different sites...

So if you have the time I would massively appreciate it!

oh, well it's easy to build your own as long as you have someone walk you through it, or even paying someone with experience/a computer store $50 to put it together if it means having way more options on parts. didn't realize your intended use for it. still... that is a lot of money to have a 1050 Ti in the build. don't get me wrong, the 1050 ti is an excellent card for the price and i recommend it all the time, but usually in very tight budget builds. you have quite the budget and i'm just trying to help you not rip yourself off in a sense.
