I'm putting this up here because I've read so many posts saying that upgrading DDR3-1600 to DDR3-2400 isn't worth it.....turns out it is WELL worth it!

A 6-8% Increase in benchmarks for a $160 (CAD) is AMAZING! Although it actually cost me NOTHING because I sold my old RAM to 2 guys who both needed 2 matching sticks to fill their extra 2 memory slots.

In case you are interested, here are my system details:

Asus P8P67
Intel 2600K OC to 4.533GHz
2x SSD RAID 0
Old Ram: 4x4GB G.Skill Ripjaws F3-14900CL9D-8GBXL 1600MHz
New RAM: 2x8GB G.Skill Trident X Series F302400C10D-16GTX 2400MHz

*I of course increased my RAM overclock (and updated my XMP setting) to take advantage of the new RAM!

**It's amazing how the 2600K is still doing well even after all these years! It is the reason why I switched to Intel!

Solution
Yep, less Dimms means less load on the memory controller so you can overclock higher. Not enough to really make a difference unless you are a hardcore overclocker.
8% increase on 60FPS is only 4.8FPS. It is very game dependent. Most of the time you will see 2-5% which isn't worth spending $160 on a newer memory. Better spent upgrading the Video Card.

It is worse with DDR4. 2133 to 3200 see almost zero increase. These days the RAM isn't a factor in games.

I compared the results on the same benchmarks before and after = it is a pretty solid 6-8% increase in frame rates and results.
For example, Warhammer gave me 6.1% increase (6 tests before vs 6 tests after, then averaged).

Seems pretty worthwhile to me!

That did occur to me....and also the XMP setting for the much newer RAM (which had better timings) might have nudged things along a bit more effectively.

Not much. Other then might be easier to overclock the ram.
