k6-2 problems

my current k6-2 350 mhz (i kno its sad but it gott last me a couple more months, lol) contantly seems to go into a sleep mode, it goes completely unactive, it even whirrs down which is depressing, then after a 1 minute period of time (aalways 1 minute) it will whir up n go again, any ideas? i dont really care so im not gonna give tooo many more details, unless you have a GOOD idea

There should be options for sleep mode, etc. in both Windows & your BIOS settins. Skeaking of which, what version of Windows are you running now?

My OS features preemptive multitasking, a fully interactive command line, & support for 640K of RAM!
 
I happen to only own mobos with the BIOS from Award Software. Which BIOS do you have have? Also, I can boot up one of my systems & try to see if I can find out where those sleep settings are. If I remeber correctly, try going under the "Control Panel" & find an option called "Power Management" or something like that. After going to this option tell us what your settings are and then we can help you from there. But if your BIOS is configured too with Powermanagement settings, you'll possibly have to mess around in there as well.

turn off hard disks: never

Always show icon on taskbar: No
Prompt for password when computer goes standby: No


thats about it, makes me think BIOS...
