I would like to know if anybody has this board (ga-k8ns-939, not the
ultra version) who has managed to enable CPU smart fan or some sort of
fan control.

I contacted gigabyte about this and they claimed that the CPU smart fan
option was under the pc health section in the bios. I looked under pc
health and every other section including the extended options with
ctrl+F1 and could find no mention of cpu smart fan.

I mailed gigabyte this and they then claimed if i load optimized
defaults then CPU smart funtion will be enabled. I tried this also,
however my cpu fan is still spinning at 3000+ rpm when my core temp is
below 30 degrees.

I would like to know about anybody elses expiriences with this board.

Thanks.

What kind of fan cooler, and how many wires are in the plug connected to
the MB?

i'm using the stock heatsink and fan that comes with Athlon64. It has
three wires.

I know that the motherboard is regulating the fan since the speed varies
between 3000 and 4000 rpm.

Problem is, even this morning when the core temp was as low as 22
degrees it won't go below 3000 rpm
