Keboard is not switching on when connected to my PC,

My PC boots ok, the screen and mouse work but the problem is the keyboard. I have checked and double checked if it is connected correctly, I have even changed keyboards and tested the new one on other computers and it works; just not on mine. What could be the problem?

The problem could be a dead ps/2 socket. Or is it a USB keyboard?

Not sure. It's one of those small roundish sockets with tiny holes and a picture of a keyboard next to it . There is one for the mouse too, but my mouse uses a USB connection. Could that be why the mouse is working and the keyboard is not? How do I sort out the problem of a dead socket?

Not likely, try your keyboard on another computer.

I did and the keyboard works fine on other computers. So strange!
