'around the corner and looks promising' :heink:

and like a sexy girl when you've been drinking, she's not sexy in the morning...
or 'around the corner' and then when you catch up to her and say Hi,
she turns around and is actually a guy or just ugly as hell.
no thanks.

LMAO!!! :na:

Riiiight I forgot about the 460....so even if you do have something against AMD cards or it just has to be nVidia for some reason, a 550ti is still not the best choice.

that video is funny but it also heightens my spirits of being a hardware 'guru'.
I have been saying for a year now maybe longer that the GTX 550 Ti is the ultimate PhysX card.
if I felt like digging I'd go look for some earlier threads..

but mal~ called it first.
straight-up.

That's eternal memory loss echo syndrome your talking about there Mal. I'm afraid its untreatable.
Sometimes it can happen straight away or most usually its a week or more later.
The main symptom is as follows :heink: Didn't I say that already ? why are they listening now and not then ?

I feel your pain my friend I am a long time sufferer

Mactronix :)

The FTW has the same core clock and a higher boost clock than a GTX 680.

who? Linus??
He seems cool to me actually and if there's any channel I follow in youtube for hardware reviews and unboxings they are:
i) Motherboards.org and ii) Linustechtips only.

man what is wrong with you...?
you just lost all 'forum' cred with that asinine statement.
do you honestly believe that.? if so then you need to be committed.

it's too early in the morning for you to be doped up..
if I was you I'd be trying to upgrade those SLi GTX 460's as well as CPU.
(not the 8170 either..)
my opinion.

Well sorry I went a little offtopic but since you're talking about processors and selling your AMD didn't feel so out of the question. Anyway I don't have a gtx 460 sli anymore, I upgraded to a gtx 680 3 weeks ago and I'm holding up with my 955 and I plan to upgrade to the 8170 if it's at least 10% better than the current 8150 since I'll get another 680 soon. I wont move to Intel 'cause I dislike their policy, how come the only board with the same features than a fx990 is the x79 series which are not compatible with the i5 3750k even been IB? They likely want to force you to spend around 900US in just the board and the processor?

I got this from the nvidia forums, at 1 single display there's not obvious bottleneck, if there's would be very light, I copyed this from there:

1 card 50ish? sli about 90. 2d Surround single 17 2d surround sli 4.

The Asus DCUII is clocked at 1058 mhz, while the FTW is clocked at 1008 mhz.
Well, it looks like you've finally found your card, the Asus GTX 670 DirectCUII TOP. Congratulations, after all this time and careful consideration it's nice to finally find that perfect card! Be sure to post back with those BF3 multiplayer benchmarks.

Here to help you out (20 in stock):

regarding enemy AI :

reading an interview of a game developer somewhere. He basically said that game enemy AI is very hard to parallise. So the GPU still cant be used for AI. The CPU has to process it, with a single core.

X79 series boards have tons of Pci-e connectivity. They also have quad channel memory support. X79/SB-E has 2011 pins compared to 1155 on the smaller Sandy/Ivy processors.

AMD has nothing on Intel's X79 platform.

You can buy a quad core intel chip for $300 for it... The mobo costs $200-300 for a decent one unlike $100-200 for SB or FX.

They don't [strike]want to[/strike] force you to buy it. Most enthusiasts don't need all the features of the X79 platform. They would add unnecessary cost.

back to the basketball game.
I believe that I have dropped enough knowledge for now... 😛

cheers.

One problem with all the data you provided...

There is not a single SLI or CFX test using gen2 vs gen3, so you're kinda barking to the wrong tree, my friend. Also, SLI or CFX for such crappy resolutions?

We need Toms with some good info on this one. Didn't they provide some in the GTX680 review?

Cheers!

PS: No, a single GTX690 doesn't count as SLI since they have their own PCIe bridge.

davemaster84

why ? because it's 100$ more expensive and 5% faster ^^?

yes i finally found my card .... only note that evga ftw has lower core clock speed but better memory clock speed .... idk it matters or not

Not when you get into higher resolutions... You know, the kind of resolutions you buy sli 680's for...

Anyways... It's well known that gpu's bottleneck the system with higher graphics presets/higher resolutions...
Edit: use inspect element, it's easy to find out what you needed to know =p
Edit2: It's stupid hard to find bulldozer reviews with high res benchmarks....

thank you. i was killing myself looking in the graphics section.
