I think referring to the number of people that order 3x GTX 680 is "lots" is a bit of a stretch. You're talking about a tiny fraction of enthusiasts, let alone the consumer base. $500 is a lot to spend on a single component for a PC- 60% more money than an xbox 360 or ps3. $1500 is quite a bit more than the vast, vast majority spend on their entire system.

i agree since some places pc components cost like mad, where i live a 680 gtx cost around 680$. Almost the same price i paid fro mobo, cpu , ram, windows and psu 😀

I'm still in two minds which way to go. I will be building a new system in the summer some time and have yet to decide how far up the tree to go with the graphics.
I'm thinking a 660 would probably be enough for me personally. Single 1080p monitor. So I await that card with interest.

Mactronix :)

Hey aslong as they perform almost as good as a 680....

here is what i am thinking. the 670 is to have 12** cuda cores and the 670 ti is to have 1536 with just extrememly lower clock speeds

768 cuda cores.....

I am in the same boat as you my friend. 1 23'inch monitor. at 1080p.

Reason i want a high performer is because i want to stay stable frame rate and be able to handle the upcoming games like Metro last light and a few others. borderlands 2 is gonna be alsome!

really want to see how good that new TXAA looks

So far I'm leaning towards expensive MoBo and CPU, coupled with a high midrange GPU like the 660 will obviously be.
My guess is ball park 570 performance which is plenty for me, I don't need bleeding edge graphics. My HD 5850 runs everything I want it to so far.
Heck I may just upgrade what I have, New CPU new GPU +4GB of Ram just because SSD job done I recon.

Mactronix :)

AMD seems to be having price cuts. Small ones.

GTX 680 is now about $508 on Newegg.
HD 7970 is about $538 for some models.

Perhaps once the aftermarket 680's come out in volume there will be more competition from the AMD side.

im hoping for good volume to in aftermarket to need upgrade big time :bounce:

Dude I'm reading this thread on my 47" and I just got up to smack the fly in your picture... bugged me out. no pun.

You have no idea of how many times i have tried mashing that little annoying bug realizing its fake

I am one of those tiny fractions of people who are willing to purchase three gtx680s.

I do agree but i still want to know.It seems i have seen two or three posts regarding this stuttering during gpu boost but the newegg reviews seems great.
Anymore input about gpu boost stuttering problems?
