I'm an on AMD too but I think a 8150 is pretty decent for a gtx 680 sli (OC'ed of course) . I was thinking about changing to intel but I know I wont find a motherboard with the same features on intel for the same price as mine. +1 On Thor's hammer haha

honestly, I expected ivy bridge to perform better.Also the the supply needs to improve.Here where I live, 690s and 680s are in stock but ivy bridge haven't yet made it to the market.

yeah but ivy is more shiny
haven't been to the dealer up close,going through their servers,I am.Might also be they haven't refreshed.

are you tracking his footprints.. or is he in David Banner mode.?
😉 :sol:
tracking 😀
But sandy is cooler and Overclocks nice and is CHEAPER!
ivy saves power so its greener too and you know I fall easily to new hardware.On overclocking I read ivy can be the pocket monster with the 3570k easily overclockable to 7 gigs on ln2.

The "heat" problem of Ivy is caused for a generic TIM, remove the TIM that comes from manufacturer an apply a decent one, then you will see good temps.

no but vice versa ocing on air will edge ahead of sandy,I think.
@saint19
the only 3rd party TIM I have with me is from Cooler Master,do you think theirs' will be good enough?

Not sure how good is the Cooler Master TIM, but AS5 is cheap and good or you can test an compare results.

Yep, AS5 FTW.

And about the GTX660... Any more inside info, saint? 😗

I really want to know if a 7870 will be a match for it and at what price 😛

Cheers!

Well the 8150 is not mine yet I only have a 955 OC to 3.8 , but yeah anything below 4.0ghz would bottleneck a 680 sli, and I'm sure I'll be able to OC the 8150 to 4.4 with my current cooler.
