keyboard lights don´t get off when i do "real" shutdown in W98 se
My motherboard is a asus

try this, i'm sure it'll work...
just break the keyboard lights and you solve your problem.
you don't really need the lights anyways. when you letter are capitalize, your CAP"S on and the num is on when you can type the numbers with keypad and when you can't scroll the scroll lock is on.
