Killed my hdd

i killed my hdd when i was in the middle of wiping it. i had a power outage when i was wiping my 160gb hdd. now windows cannot read the drive nor can it assign a drive letter. on top of that device manager says the device is unreadable. but the device name "WDC WD16 00bb-22GUA0" which is the defective device pops up in device manager. any thoughts? i tried all the diagnostics i have and none of them could even recognize the device. id like to get it up and running as soon as possible.

Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Computer management, Disk management.
Does it show up here, have you tried to format, or reset the primary partition to active from here?

no i have not tried that but i will try it right now

well i looked into it and the hdd does not appear in disk management. i also went into device manager again and went into the properties of the drive and went to "volumes". when i clicked populate, it said "drive is unreadable."
