I wonder if they'll pull a stunt like this again?

boycotting Kingston after I got screwed with the v300

Depending on the price as long as it doesn't crap in its pants like early ssd s and need reformatted yearly to retain 50% of its "new" performance its a godsend to those wgod otherwise opt out of a ssd.

Kingston and PNY pulled a doozy they'll never recover from. Send samples for review and switch out the parts for the consumer to buy. "What you thought you bought, but didn't".

Most of the desktop pc's are not using at least one 5 1/4 drive bays. Why don't a manufacturer think to build a cheap 5 1/4 SSD. Quantum made Bigfoot HDD before and sell it at past. Also the drive can be combined with a slim DVD or Bluray player or can be sold as bundle.
Just think about it.

Making the drive in a 2.5 inch form factor means that with a drive caddy it can fit in any sized bay. They are not limited to customers only wanting it in larger drive bays.

I can see it now. A year from today there will be a lot more competition in the 1TB< SSD market. That means dirt cheap SSDs, and the slow and painful death of Hard Drives, which has been going on for a little while now.
