Why nobody posted about this amazing thing yet?

It's an 96kb FPS game! Get it from <A HREF="http://www.theprodukkt.com" target="_new">theprodukkt website</A>

Visually, this game looks amazing considering it's 96kb filesize. I think it renders everything on-the-fly, so the hardawre requirement is big.

<i>- A 1.5GHz Pentium3/Athlon or faster.
- 512MB of RAM (or more)
- A Geforce4Ti (or higher) or ATI Radeon8500 (or higher) graphics card
supporting pixel shaders 1.3, preferably with 128MB or more of VRAM.
- Some kind of sound hardware
- DirectX 9.0b </i>

<A HREF="http://www.actiontrip.com/rei/comments_news.phtml?id=041504_7" target="_new">Many people bitched about this game here.</A> There is two reasons for their problems:-

#1) They have system that looks relatively stable, but not 100% stable.

#2) They tried to run it with GeForce3. This game requires pixel shader 1.3 (GF3 has 1.1), so it doesn't work with GeForce3.

I said about this forum. The forum is flooded with GF 6800 threads, but not a single thread about this game.

It's not a bit less amazing than GeForce 6800 Ultra performance.

My system is below minimum requirement for this game, I got 5-7 fps in this game (9-10 fps in the menu)

I think it's a great game compared to Halo. Halo didn't look much better, I got only ~15 fps, though everything was pre-rendered and the game took gigabyte HDD space. Both are boring and not fun to play. But Halo costs money if you purchase leagally, and this game doesn't cost a cent.

It's interesting, but I think if they want to be taken seriously then this game really needs a MASSIVE overhaul in the code. It's neat that they can fit the whole thing in such a tiny file, and I like the stencilled shadows and dynamic lighting, but I'm probably getting 5-7 FPS on my 9800 Pro, which is inexcusable. I don't care if they have to jack up the file size, just get the damn thing to work.

All I can say is wow. I dloaded and played this game (didn't see an FPS reading but it was smooth sometimes, and very unsmooth sometimes, it varied greatly depending on what part of the level I was in, but I'd say 10-15 fps avg.).

Wow.. the graphics are actually GOOD! Sure, they use alot of the same textures over and over, but look at the size of the file!

The textures they do use (like the wood texture) are really high quality! The lighting is amazing.

The readme says they'll be releasing the final version soon that should be MUCH better, and I assume performance is one thing that will be better.

BTW love the Halo comparison:)

Me: are you saying I can't provide?
Me: cause I know I can provide.
Me: oh and I can provide money too;)
Rachel:): why do we need money when we can just stay in our room and have sex all day?

Isaw it an played it, and got stuck in one of those doors and it wouldn't release me. It's interesting, but it's more of a games section post. The TINY DEMO was cool because it was a benchmark that stressed all cards even though it was soooooo tiny.

Interesting concept and likely has a great 'proof of concept' for things like cell phone gaming where bandwidth for downloads is critical.

Simply put, it's neat, but it would've been cooler if someone here did it.

Still a nice stepping stone, just not surprised it wasn't posted

yeah I got stuck in one of the doors, too. by "stuck" I mean, I wasn't able to enter through the door, though I could see other things through that open door.

It's mainly CPU intensive, slower CPU really hurts even if you have R9800 Pro. Less than 512 MB ram should also cause trouble.

It can be considered as a good system stablity test, once the stable version is released.

I highly doubt this kind of tech will be usable in cellphone/pda, since they require massive processing power.

Frames: 3815 - Time: 110600ms - Avg: 34.493 - Min: 21 - Max: 51

Pulled from FRAPS, P4 2.8c, Radeon 9800 Pro(400/358), 1gig ddr400 dual channel.

Performance seems alright to me

Nice result.

Your scores suggest that my speculation is correct, Performance of this game depends more on CPU performance

I get playable fps with a 9600np.

I'm doing great with a 9700 Pro. The one thing that I think people miss is that there are NO textures or sounds included; they are all generated on the fly, hence the hardware requirements. I want the source code...

The 'tiny demo' is the Zoom3 demo from these guys (not the same as the kkrieger guys IMO);

<A HREF="http://and.intercon.ru/" target="_new">http://and.intercon.ru/</A>

For 64kb that's prety impressive, in fact both are impressive.

Just depends on what you want to do with them. They BOTH have limited replay-ability IMHO.

The FR guys have different demos that are extremely well done (to them it's like sp0rt, competing at demos);

<A HREF="http://www.farb-rausch.com/" target="_new">http://www.farb-rausch.com/</A>

And then there's the 'mini' guys (but they are much bigger than tiny :wink: );

It's amazing really, Just think - the code for the game would fit into 2 of the old rubber-keyed 48K spectrums. :cool:

It runs fine on my system. very smooth, don't have time to test thoroughly at the moment (on lunch break) but at a guess I'd say it's averaging 30-40FPS easily.

I'm very glad to see that at least some programmers these days try to be a bit more efficient.

You'd need to install this thing <b>33,531</b> times before it would take up as much space as my Far Cry installation! :eek:

I think that is the point really, it seems to me that programmers become increasingly more complacent when it comes to games...size isn't an issue :smile: as much as it used to be, everyone has huge hard drives, lots of system memory, and what does it matter if a game is one or two (or 3) CD's...Just wait until games start coming out regularly on DVD's...we will all need dual 160GB hard drives....
