Wow. According to the RPG (and even in Rage!), Montoya is a
Malkavian-embraced Shadow Lord ABOMINATION!

Woot!

Certainly explains the cracked, blacked-out moon symbol, as well as the
Sterile and Scarce traits...

and since i know nothing at all of the backstory/rage, i think it's a
real good guess that the clan (bloodline) will be listed as Wyrm. it's
the only word that seems to fit the list alphabetically that would not
have already been listed.

happy Lupercalia! (the ancient holiday that coincides with the modern
Valentine's Day. it was a celebration of the rutting of the wolves,
who were holy to the romans. romulus was raised by wolves, and the
patron deity of the city was Juno Febris, juno of the fever, for whom
february is named; wolves were here holy animals. traditional
celebration was by orgying, but a werewolf abomination card being
previewed seems appropriate as well...) ˆ

He has also appeared in Rage CCG before, I think.

Don't remember if he's an Enemy (as a Abomination) or a regular Pack
character though.

No. He was a Wyrm character in the Wyrm expantion. One of the cool
things about that expansion: it allowed players to start playing the
bad guys. The really _good_ bad guys!

And of course, "Abomination," if that's what the symbol refers to, must
be a clan, because the "scarce" trait refers to clan. My Diversity
deck is going to love this guy.

Nice.

I must say Montoya is not the mountain of asskicking I would expect of
an Abomination. Could the long-awaited "NEW" be a definition of the new
Abomination scarce clan? Think some of these library cards we're seeing
could be Abomination clan cards, or Werewolf cards that Abominations
can play? (Like "Pack Alpha", "Bay and Howl", etc.)

Oh, I hope so. I didn't realize TBA: New was going to be this amazing, and
I had already started opening holes in my Set Binder for the new Crypt
Cards. I'd hate to have to start all over and file them under 'A' for
Abomination. This guy is also the first non-Rare Scarce vampire. Let's see
what happens when normal people can build a deck around Scarce Vampires.

If this were the very last expansion ever and no other cards
keyed on being Scarce (Stranger Among Us, e.g.), maybe.

And play events like Mass Pollution and Red Alert. And attack Victim
cards like the Bus Full of People, the Playground Full of Kids, the
Highschool Athlete, the Happy Tourists... Always using Ass Whuppin'
Lynch Mob.
Not to mention to pull to your "pack" uber-powerful enemy cards like
the Nexus Crawler.

Man, how I loved playing Wyrm.

Oh, yea, I forgot about that. "Enemy" cards, to Wyrm packs, were the
helpless victims you'd see in all the horror movies. The guys you could
tell were toast within 30 seconds of when they made their appearance
from how their personalities were set up. ("Oh, yea!!! She's a sweet
young thang...we'll be seeing parts of HER strewn from here to Texas
before too long...")

rule/whatever to be previewed soon.
I don't think it will turn out to represent "Wyrm" since it's such a
strange concept for the vampires as far as background goes. It could
just mean Abominations - since they're vampires of sorts also - or
even "World of Darkness characters" that are supposed to be under a
Methuselah's sphere of influence. Who knows?

If 0 of this new clan was "full", then all group pairs (1/2,2/3,3/4,4/5,5/6,...)
would be "full". That hardly seems reasonable.

Nice background. I'm not sure why the Lasombra needed a new background
though, because of the green status bar, as this one looks quite good
the way it is.

The abilities aren't too werewolfy though... Looks kind of like a setite.
Unless he gets to use special clan-based cards... 😉

It's possible they'll errata the old Abomination to be a member of this
new clan instead of clanless, but then, the Great Beast is clanless, so
they may leave it unchanged.

One-up you, Orph. Think about it - the Ravnos was the only clan to get
7 new vamps instead of 6 new and one G2 Advancement. SO... maybe
another abomination with NEC and one more with QUI? But they won't
match perfectly, can't use those clans clan-specific stuff, and are
generally wierd enough not to screw up the 2/3 grouping too much, but
maybe lets group 4 get a little smaller (especially if there's a good
bit of synergy with these vamps) so that the odd/even groupings of the
indies can be rebalanced a little faster? Just a thought...

I wonder that it clan won't have "clan rules". Maybe all will be Scarce
and Sterile, but don't anymore. Therefore, it's interesting a clan rule
affecting Methuselahs.
