Kn7420 Pro Vid. Question

I had built a system using this board for a friend about 2 years ago.
My friend brought it back to me saying that it simply would not turn on.
Replaced the power supply with an Antec 350 and it started right up.
Now I have another problem. When the monitor is connected directly into the
board I get nothing. Tried placing an AGP video card board into it, nothing.
I placed the monitor on my laptop and it works wonderful. Its not the
monitor.
The monitor itself has a self test and that is reading... Check monitor cord
or power supply.
I know its not the cord, and a new power supply.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Specs on this computer are

20 gig HD
512 Crucial Ram
cd
cdr
floppy
nic card

I took off the nic, unplugged the cd's., floppy drive. Still nothing.
I also noticed the the lights on my keyboard are off and the optical light
on my mouse will only liight up when being moved then shuts off.

Again, any ideas as to whats going on here?
