I just install the Kraken G10 bracket with a Kraken X31 to a MSI 7970.
I started the Cam software set to performance and went to do a Furmark test and the computer shutdown. I then restarted and found that the temps were getting to 80+ just by using the internet.
What did I do wrong? Need help.

Sounds like you haven't assembled it correctly, with no springs or standoffs on the G10 bracket, so you have to be very, very careful to tighten the hold down screws EXACTLY the same amount or the pump unit won't sit properly on the GPU die, causing high temperatures.

With my experimental G10 build I found the way was: Assemble the G10 and hold the card/G10 in one hand, thumb underneath, fingers on the pump bracket, so you can hold the whole thing tightly together. Then put the 4 screws on (they have a crosshead on the top and a rubber ring on the bottom BTW) and gently turn them down until they just touch, then in a diagonal sequence, 1/2 turn at a time, tighten them 2 turns. Mark the screwdriver handle with a felt tip pen so you can easily gauge the 1/2 turn.
Even using the above cannot guarantee a perfect install, if you see high temperatures, you'll have to do it again, it's frustrating I know but it's also in the nature of the G10 hold down system...GRRRR!

Yes the original heat sink has a raise area.

You should be able to hear the pump at maximum speed, also, gently touch it with a fingertip, if it's working you'll fell a little vibration.
How have you connected the pump? If it's to a motherboard header, check in the BIOS to make sure that header is set to maximum speed-if you're unsure as to which one it's connected to either consult the manual or turn them all up to max.

EDIT, You'll need to find or make a suitable COPPER shim, in the meantime, I very strongly suggest you check the pump is working then refit the original cooler, until you can source a suitable shim for the X31 pump/coldplate running with the current G10+X31 is suicidal for the card.

Getting some shim now. I plugged in the cooler and did feel the rumble, but no water sound.

So the shim is the answer, unfortunately i could not get a soild square, i found some strips at a hobby store. I put the strips on the GPU and then thermal on the strips then the x31 heatsink. used furmark and temps stayed at 67 100% load.
