Hello everyone,

Here is the sitaution: i have a good gaming pc downstairs (3900x, msi x570, 32gb ram, 1080ti) but it would be perfect if i could use this same setup remotely from my attic.

I have been looking at kvm switches over ethernet as I can run a network cable from my attic to my pc/modem.

I have no experience with KVM switches but i do see options that transfer displayport and usb signal over CAT6. Are these KVM switches viable?

Downstairs as well as upstairs I have a 2560x1440 monitor, one 60hz(upstairs) and one 165hz.

Please help 😊 thank you.
I can spend up to 400euro on this.

EDIT
Small addition: so 1440p at 60hz (preferably higher) + keyboard, mouse and headset (another udb and audio jack) should be needed.

Is this feasible? Thanks for any advice!

What about remote access?

I.e., run the gaming computer via the computer in the attic?

Especially if you can run an Ethernet cable to get the attic computer on the network.

What distance are you working with from the attic to the gaming pc?

Likely well within the Ethernet cable limit of 100 meters (328 feet).

KVM may be much more problematic and could require a booster along the way.

Google "KVM switch over ethernet" - there are products available. Budget?
