Hello,
I am planning to install Linux without a graphical desktop on my main Computer (Maybe Ubuntu Server).
So that the host uses as few resources as possible (maybe should I use Lubuntu?).
From there I want to have multiple KVM (QEMU) virtual machines.
I have 2 GPU's in my system a GTX 1080 and a rx 550.
Besides this my PC has 64gb of RAM and a 8 core (16 thread) CPU.
I want to run the host on the rx 560 and the virtual machines on the GTX 1080.
I have read about GPU passthrough and that it should be possible.
But now my question is whether it is possible to have the host shell only and the guest with a graphical desktop.
I could not find an answer to this question but maybe I have not searched for the right terms. If this is the case I would be happy, if somebody could point me in the right direction.
thank you in advance,
Dario
