Question Lag across all software on new NVME SSD

Hey all,

I recently purchased a Samsung 980 SSD to run my OS and a few games on, upgrading from a near-decade old Sandisk SSD.

Install was easy enough, cloned my old drive onto it with Acronis TrueImage and it booted right up. My problem is that it's running worse than my old drive, making my OS visibly slow and essentially rendering me unable to run any games off of it.

I've downloaded the Samsung Magician software which claims that the drive firmware is up to date. The speed test, whilst performing worse than what the manufacturer claims, should still be plenty to run without performance issues.
The drive also claims to be at 0% load in the Task Manager performance tab, so I see no reason why it shouldn't be running smoothly.

From what I can tell, there are no other drivers that I can install (at least Samsung doesn't seem to provide any). Any help is appreciated.

Other hardware:
ASUS Z490-P motherboard
Intel Core i9-10900K
AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT
Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR4 3600MHz
