Lagging on Duke Nukem Forever (fps)?

My PC spec is:

AMD Bulldozer FX 4100 (3.6Ghz Quad core)
XFX Ati Radeon 6770 1GB DDR5
8 gb DDR3 of ram
Gigabyte motherboard (GA-M68MT-S2P)
500 watt PSU
1TB Hard drive

I passed all the recommendations on canirunit.com. Updated my GPU driver and did everything from dnf forum threads to try and fix the lag and no such luck to fixing this game from lagging on campaign mode.

It becomes very noticeable at the intro video and in game when enemies appear on screen (even 1 enemy and the fps goes tremendously down) as well as explosions.

Are you running it through Steam as there was a BIG patch that Steam should have installed for you automatically, which fixed this problem.. ??

Yes I am running this game on steam and I did install the latest patch on it (I also verified it to make sure that it was up to date). But nothing has changed.
