If I fill the other two 4.0 x4 nvme slots and the x16 pcie 5.0 slot is reduced to x8 instead of x16 will it affect an 8x graphics card like the 5060? Do the lanes shift to fit the needs? or does it shut down the opposite ones of the 8x use so it doesn't effect them?

The motherboard you've linked above has 4xM.2 SSD slots, which two are you referring to, M2B_CPU or M2C_CPU?

According to the motherboard's manual+block diagram(page 5);

If you have an M.2 PCIe based drive in slots M2B_CPU or M2C_CPU, the first PCIe slot will operate at x8 lanes, this won't affect your GPU's speeds because it's highest speed is PCIe5.0 x8 however I don't see anything mentioned whereby you can populate both M2B_CPU and M2C_CPU slot without having the first PCIe slot shut off.

I wasn't aware it shut down the first slot. I thought it simply cut down the pcie video card slot down to x8 and ran both the A,B,C slots. IE, I thought you could install 3 HDD's while just droping from x16 to x8.

I'm coming from a DDR3 system. I'm not aware of the nuances of modern boards.

It sounds like in some cases it shuts it off and in others it lowers the bandwidth from just googling it. Is there a way to tell which it does.

I read the manual and I thought it only mentioned the slot dropping to x8. I didn't see anything about it shutting down entire slots.

I was not aware until now that it could even shut down a lane. I thought it only reduced speeds.
