Hi,
my issue is that whatever audio playing from my laptop can at anytime become really bad and distorted for seemingly no reason. Straight from startup -> edge -> youtube and audio fails, even though no other apps are in use. Sometimes it does not fail, but usually does.
I have checked drivers through device manager, disabled various background apps in order to ease the load on the laptop.
Tested different audio outlets, no issue in them.
Ran memory diagnostics, no issues.

Usually during these audio fails, cpu is chilling at 20% usage, memory usually around 70-80%.

For whatever reason the forum wont allow me to include the image of the performance memory tab(spam-like).

Laptop in question Lenovo Ideapad S340

-AMD Radeon Vega 8 Graphics
-AMD Ryzen 5 3500U
-8 GB Ram

Is it just that 8gb ram is too little nowadays? Is it even a memory issue? Any ideas on what to try welcomed

Thanks

Look in Reliability History/Monitor and Event Viewer for any error codes, warnings, or even informational events associated with audio software of any sort.

Especially any entries just before or at the time audio becomes bad or distorted.

Reliability History/Monitor provides a timeline format that may reveal some pattern.

No warnings or errors in Event Viewer relating to any sort of audio software, only DistributedCOM(10010) and Service control manager(7023).

Reliability History showed one instance of Realtek Audio Console - Stopped Working.

The audio quality fluctuates, say youtube is playing and nothing else is touched/opened, the audio can remain good, or become good again after a while. However even opening task manager, opening a new tab in edge pretty quickly makes the audio quality go down, even though neither cpu or memory resources are used to max.
