When I connect my laptop charger to the laptop, the green light goes off and the battery isn't charging. Now, when I pull off the battery from the laptop and connect the charger to the machine, it works perfectly fine and I can use the laptop.
I know there is a big amount of topics about chargers going off when connected and people usually respond that the problem is the motherboard. But in my case, I can actually use the laptop without a battery as said previously, so I'm not sure if the laptop itself is the problem or not.
Speaking about batteries, I thought the battery was the problem, so I bought a second one. It works. It came precharged and I could turn on the laptop without the charger. After connecting the charger to the working laptop nothing happened, it didn't start charging, but the charger itself instantly turned off (green light went off).
So I need to understand whether the charger is the problem or the laptop. Thank you! The laptop is Inspiron 5520
