Question Laptop CPU Really Hot On Startup (90~C)

Hello everyone! Hope ya'll are having a good day so far, I've recently replaced the thermal paste on my laptop (Lenovo Legion 5 Y520-15IKBN, CPU is I7 7700HQ) With some pretty cheap (4,95 euros) thermal paste, now, I am seeing my CPU on startup jumping to 90 ish C, and while gaming it goes up to 100C and my CPU thermal throttles, (pic below of startup) how can I fix this? If I need to buy better thermal paste, which one?

Hey there,
It sounds to me that either the cooler isn't working as intended or the thermal paste has degraded.

I'd start by giving your laptop a good clean (disassemble), re-apply new thermal paste to the CPU and GPU. Then test again

How would the thermal paste have been degraded this quickly? I replaced it around 2 weeks ago.

That is how long a cheap thermal paste will last when applied direct die to a mobile CPU. Find some genuine Honeywell PTM 7950 and do a professional job.
