Over the past week, my fans have been turning onto high for no reason, even when just booting up my laptop. I cleaned out of dust a few months ago, after having it for almost 3 years and never cleaning it, so I don't think dust is an issue.

My laptop is an Asus ROG GL502V. I'm checking temps via the SpeedFan application. I scanned for viruses and nothing came up. The only thing consuming a bunch of processing power is the "Antimalware Service Executable", which is supposedly just built in security/antivirus software. Can anyone help me figure out what's going on and how I could potentially fix this?Screenshots of my task manager and speed fan results taken within seconds of each other: View: https://imgur.com/E1HgJf3

You could try re applying thermal paste by disassembling your laptop, I'd personally suggest that

I replaced the thermal paste. The pictures of it will be included at the bottom of this post in an imgur gallery. While now my idle temps when no apps are running is 35-40C, as soon as I just start up something like Google Chrome, only starting it and nothing else, my temps will spike to 80-90C, only dropping down around 60-70C at it's lowest.

In the last picture in the set, you can see where two screws for the heat sink to screw into the motherboard , right above the CPU is. Those silver pieces are supposed to be attached to the motherboard, but at some point broke off. Without those, the heat sink isn't as tight as it could be to the CPU. It is sitll touching, but pushing down on those screws would make it more firmly attached to the CPU. Is this enough to be causing these variations, and if so how can I fix it? And are there any more possible solutions to this? I even tried reinstalling Windows and it didn't change anything.
